Thank you for your suggestions on my last post, one that came up quite a bit was about my tights, and how do I store my forty odd pairs?
Well, since I had my bedroom re-done I now have a designated tights storage area! I'll admit, it's already overflowing, perhaps I *do* have a slight obsession going on.

There is some method in my madness, coloured tights are in one space, patterned in another and black style ones in another. Well, that's the theory...it doesn't often work out that way.

Outfit wise, this is an old dress, and old shoes. I'm enjoying being able to wear heels again.

Today's outfit was thrown together in a fit of frustration. The weather is all over the place and my old staples from this time last year no longer fit the bill.

Dress, £5 Primark
Leggings, New Look
Boots, Office via a lovely blog reader
Vest, New Look via Mum's wardrobe

I never know what to do with myself on a Monday,
how do you usually fill your time? My current options are crafts, baking, and listing clothes that no longer fit on ebay.

Also, I want to hear from you what you want to see/read more of on the blog. I really want to start trying some new things but so far have come up with zilch! I'm willing to consider (pretty much) anything...

Money Saving and an Outfit

Hello, it's still early Sunday morning here but I find myself awake drinking peppermint tea and ready to post.
I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far? It's gone bloody cold here but the sun is shining and it's really quite pleasant outside.

Today's post is in part, written by the lovely Rhian at moneysupermarket.com, she asked me if she could write a guest post sharing some hints and tips about saving money whilst still being able to treat yourself.

SAVE MONEY USING VOUCHERS

Since the recession a person’s disposable income has been hit, retailers are now realising this and are becoming
more and more competitive with the discounts they are offering. Savvy consumers are making the most of these
discounts to ensure they are getting the best deals. There are a huge range of printable vouchers and online
discount codes available, whether you are considering a big or small purchase there will be a discount to be had.

Here is a selection of some of the great discounts currently available …

New Look
With winter coming it is a great excuse to go shopping and invest in a new winter wardrobe. High street chains
are offering a huge variety of discounts ranging from money off your bill total or a discount off an individual
product. Before ordering or buying anything remember to check what vouchers are available. This has been
made easier with the new Moneysupermarket.com iPhone Vouchers App that allows you to check
discounts on the go. The application uses geolocation technology and can find the best deals in your surrounding
area meaning that it can take just seconds to save you a packet!

Benefit
Make up, creams, nail varnish and hair products I can’t get enough of them, but the costs can soon add up
especially for high end brands. Benefit are a company who’s products I particularly like they currently have a
range of discounts including free delivery on orders over £50 and up to 15% off any orders using a voucher code.

Odeon
I love going to the pictures but find that the costs can soon add up with the price of the tickets, drinks and the
obligatory box of popcorn. Thankfully the Odeon is running a discount offering 40% off the price of cinema tickets.
This discount is available all week, so you are not limited to going just one day a week which is great news.

Pizza Express
Eating out now and again is always a treat, with discount vouchers you need never pay full price again. Pizza
Express is allowing you to get two main meals for £12 when using a printable voucher. Remember to check for
discounts to cut the cost of you bill next time you decide to eat out.

Sometimes you just have to go with comfort over style. Sometimes an outfit is going to be not at all flattering. Sometimes you aren't going to feel "right" in anything you put on.

Sometimes, like today, you just have to embrace it and chuck on your favourite trousers and stick two fingers up at the negative thoughts.

Photobucket

The floral hareem pants are from Matalan; somewhere I don't often shop but really should do more. Good prices and some beautiful clothes and shoes (oh god, the shoes!)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Please note the return of stalker cat. In the week since I have been home he's not left me alone! He was poorly the first few weeks I was, and according to my parents hadn't seemed right since.
No evidence of that now, the theory is he was playing for sympathy, like many a man I know.

Well, it's once again Friday...who has plans for the weekend? As far as I know I'm catching up with Best Friend on Sunday, and shall venture to see my grandparents at some point too. Keeping things quiet. For now.

contrast

Over the past few months I have become more accepting of casual wear. I used to feel like I had to dress up every day or something terrible would happen; but actually I quite enjoy the comfort of a pair of jeans and a simple sweater and have started to embrace it more.

Case in point, yesterday:

Photobucket

Photobucket

These jeans were an absolute bargain from a Next clearance store, I believe they were £5. The sweater is from New Look...I'm still devoted to that shop.

Today was back to dresses though, the dress I am wearing is my new favourite. A sales buy from Monsoon Fusion, the colour and print make me so happy.

Photobucket

Photobucket

You probably can't see it clearly but the print is little apples.

Well, back to fashion...I'm still terribly behind on both NY and London fashion week, its a bit beyond my comprehension to be thinking of Summer when I still haven't decided on my Winter wardrobe! Top of my wish list for this season is this cutwork leather skirt from Oasis

Photobucket

Well, that's me done. I'm off to find a bank to rob to pay for aforemention skirt.

P.S. thank you so much for the incredibly sweet comments

back at it

So, my first post-hospital outfit post. Dressing is tricky right now, I'm having to re-learn what fits and suits my new shape. I'm trying to look at is as a good thing, another challenge and the perfect excuse to go shopping.

The dress is from New Look, I bought it on Saturday for the grand sum of £6. The clogs are also new, purhcased on a ward trip, also £6 but from Primark this time.

Did everyone have a good weekend? What did you get up to? Mine involved a lot of un-packing and a lot of lazing on the sofa watching TV with my parents.
I don't think it has sunk in that I am home just yet...but each day as it comes, right?

Who has exciting plans for this week? Inspire me! Mine so far consists of catching up with LFW and blogs.

Friday, 17 September 2010

Just a really quick post to say I am home! Home home home, for good. It's so surreal and I now face the daunting task of unpacking...my tights took up a bag of their own!

Give me a few days to settle and I'll be a regular fixture on the blogging circuit once more.

An Outfit

I've been hesitating in posting a proper outfit photo, but finally seem to have the balls to do so.
Coming to terms with a completley alien body is a mammoth task, and I feel as part of it I have lost my sense of style, dressing for camoflauge and comfort and foregoing style.

Photobucket

But here we are. An old faithful dress that has been unworn so far this summer. I need to do some major clothes shopping once I am discharged, there has been little point up till now, and although everything I had before is wearable, it looks and feels different and largely gets ignored.

It's been another lovely weekend. Beautiful weather and time with family go hand in hand.
Yesterday I spent in my hometown, pottering. Today Mum, Dad and myself headed to Matalan where I purchased (or rather Dad did) a pair of floral harem pants.

I hope everyone else has had a great weekend as well,
I look forward to catching up properly from next weekend.

With only 12 days left until I officially come home, things are getting intense to say the least, and I have never been so grateful for weekend leave!
Many thanks for the kind words on my last weekend post; I had a fabulous time, going to favourite places and spending time with my family.

Photobucket

Tragus piercing; the other girls on the unit got piercings this week on ward trip. I love those girls.

And relax.

This weekend, I think is going to be a quiet one. Finalising plans for coming home and learning to become chilled out again.
I might fit in some shopping, I have the bug again. I picked up some somewhat dated now heeled clogs for £6 in Primark this week and need things to wear them with.

Have a great weekend lovelies, whatever you do. I'll try and get another post up before I go back

Friday, 3 September 2010

So, like I said earlier, I'm being discharged in 18 days! I am so very excited to start afresh with my life,
but also terrified of what it all means.
Things have changed so much over the last 14 weeks and there is so much I want to do and experience now; hopefully as a result this will lead to my blog taking a new direction (though don't hold me to that, I'm not the best at change!)

It's been a pretty busy week, starting to tie up loose ends etc. I rewarded my hard work by getting my tragus pierced on Wednesday...one word, OUCH. Another of the girls was going to get hers done too, but changed her mind when she saw my face.

Anywayyyy...
I have a newly decorated bedroom to show off! I only saw it for the first time last weekend, and I am in love. I'm having so much fun buying bits and bobs for it, though it's costing me a damn fortune.
Shopping is something I've done a lot of over the time I've been away. Originally clothes, then shoes, and now more random things. I really need a new winter wardrobe but have totally lost touch with trends and what is about in the fashion world.
