It's a New Day

I think we've all experienced it; and if we haven't...we all will. That moment when you know things must change and you simply can't carry on burying your head in the sand.

For me, that day was Monday...and I'd like to send out a massive thank you to my friends on twitter and facebook for being there with the words of support and encouragement, and to everyone who has supported me over the last couple of years.

Who's going to join me in a fresh start? In realising there are some things in life that shouldn't be there to hold you back? With the festive season approaching I can think of no better time to take a deep breathe and just live.
I've wasted so many years holding myself back, and Monday...Monday made me take a step backwards and realise what truly matters.

Wearing: Zara floral shift, New Look tights, Jeffrey Campbell boots.

i totally agree about a fresh start. I've been writing my book for the past two weeks (and I'm now 26k words in, woohoo!) and am now starting to grab the future in both hands. Who knows, maybe by the new year I could be on my way!!

Love the boots by the way! :)

So true, life is for living and it's for living for you - not everyone else [I totally need to remember that because I'll forget it when my mam tries to guilt trip me into going back to the UK].

And who cares how many fresh starts we all have?! hehe x

I completely understand what you mean about wasting time, I feel like 2011 has completely passed me by. I'm starting to feel like I can change things, but I'm scared I'll just lose control again...

Having said that, things are starting to look up and, for once, a cheesy saying is actually helping me (here goes): "When written in Chinese the word crisis is composed of two characters.
One represents danger, and the other represents opportunity." Cheesy huh? But I do think it's important to seize the opportunities that often come along with a crisis.

You come across as a real fighter in your blog, so I really think you can do this.

xx

I also wanted to say, and got distracted by those SHOES, that we all understand! Getting set back stinks, and it sounds like you are going through something pretty stressful, but in the end... you will come out stronger, smarter and more of a beautiful person than you already are - so, it's worth it.. in a round-about way :)

such inspirational words and so true. I've been letting my dislike of my uni and my course hold me back so much and I really shouldn't any more :/ I hope you're ok and good luck with everything, just keep smiling and you'll get through it all - fresh starts are always a great thing to do :)
Love your dress too!!
Take care <3 Holz oxo

Hope that you're doing ok. I like the sentiment Laura. I think you're right, everybody has a time in their life, or everyone will, where something has to give. I think for me that was September when I started my new course. I hated uni as a final year undergrad, I left with few friends, a bad experience, bad memories and a shadow of the person I used to be, particularly when it came to meeting people and making friends. I'm glad I made the decision to be myself, but to make a fresh start with being a whole person and being positive.

I hope your fresh start is positive, and you look absolutely freaking gorgeous with the dress and boots combo, simple but beautiful.

Hope you're okay :) xxx
