everything

Clearly the computer fixing people don't share the same sense of urgency as I do, because my laptop is STILL not back,
but with a lot of patience I am able to update the blog, and even comment on a few...but not as many as I'd like, because this beast tends to crash every couple of sites.

Well, it's Saturday again, weekends are coming around way too fast for my liking; I mean, it's pretty much almost Christmas. Fear.

Life has started to pick up it's pace a bit around here which is great. I've had a fairly hectic week and loved every second of it. Yesterday was the best day, by far. Shopping in the morning followed by a trip to the theatre with my Best Friend to see Beauty and the Beast in the evening. If you get a chance, go and see it...so much fun (though the songs WILL be stuck in your head for days!)

A crisis of confidence (and lack of suitable bra) meant I didn't wear my dress kindly sent by Vera Moda as planned, I opted for my black and white Anna Sui instead that I got for a steal in the outnet birthday sale earlier this year. I did however snap a few pictures of the dress, and jeans that I was sent. And expect to see them feature in up-coming posts.

The dress is the perfect mix of fabric and leather and has the most amazing back detail that makes me think of a tuxedo for some reason.

The jeans are also fabulous, although a tad too small at the moment, but given a few months, when things have settled they should be perfect!

Photobucket

Don't forget Vera Moda are opening their London flagship store next Thursday (the 4th). Follow them on twitter and head on down to Oxford Street for you chance to win amazing prizes.

Tabio also very kindly sent me a thank you package this week...check out the haul!

Photobucket

Other new things this week include some wedge heel ankle boots and an awful lot of Nail Polish.
Welcome to broke-dom Laura. Congratulations.

And finally, here is an outfit I wore this week. I bought this dress back in the summer in a fit of online shopping to make up for not being able to visit the shops. Luckily it still fits and can be adapted for winter just fine!

Sorry for the epic post!
I hope your having an awesome weekend...what are your Halloween plans? Mine; staying in, watching x-factor and scaring the trick or treaters when they dare knock on our door.
Aren't I just lovely?!

Vero Moda Part One

I'm still without laptop; hopefully tomorrow or Saturday, but I really couldn't wait any longer to do this post.

Long lusted after by myself, Vero Moda are opening their London Flagship store on Thursday November 4th, I'm gutted I can't attend myself, but get yourself down to 179 Oxford street to check out the absolutely stunning Autumn/Winter collections and a chance to win a free outfit.

I cannot heap enough praise on Vero Moda and their exquisitely designed clothes which offer impeccable details at affordable prices. I've spent the last week drooling over their A/W look book and have chosen my two favourite looks to share with you as an example of what's in store.

You can find out more about Vero Moda by becoming a fan on facebook and following them on twitter
Not only will you be kept fully up to date, but there is also a chance of winning some fantastic prizes.

I've called this post Part One because the team at Vero Moda were kind enough to send a couple of pieces my way,
and those will be featured asap, or, as soon as I have my laptop back.
For now, I urge you to check out their website and fall in love like myself, and so many others already have.

((apologies for the less than stellar post, this has taken me since yesterday to get posted!))

slower than a slow thing

I still don't have my laptop but, and google reader still won't load on this beast but with a little (lot) of patience I am able to update!
There is little else to do on a cold, rainy Tuesday afternoon.

First up is a couple of recent outfits.

The Cat print jumper dress was a present from my Grandparents and so baggy and comfortable that I want to live in it! It was £25 from New Look

(someone got jealous)

Next up is what I wore yesterday, I love these tights although they attracted a few sideways glances when I popped out.

And finally, when I have MY laptop back there are a couple of exciting posts to be done. Here's a little sneak preview of what'll be making an appearence!

Photobucket

(I'll leave you guessing on that one!)

Photobucket

For now I highly suggest you follow Vero Moda on twitter and like them on facebook...there are fabulous times ahead.

And that's that for now. I hope you are having a wonderful start to your week and are managing to stay warm and dry. Hopefully I'll be back properly, soon.

Technical Hiccup

Happy Saturday all,
this is just a quick post to say I have suffered epic.laptop.fail and will be without my trusty steed until Wednesday at least. I am currently using my Dad's old Dell, which dates back to approx 1820 and cannot cope with many photos or google reader so I shall likely be absent from blogging until then.

Butttt, I promise wonderful things
(err, okay standard outfit photos and a few exciting things) upon my return.

Enjoy your weekend! I'm meeting up with my Bestie from the hospital today for some retail therapy (a.k.a. window shopping).

Tights Love at Tabio

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It's no secret that I am tights obsessed and Tabio have been on my radar, to some extent for a while. When Gem posted her awesome giveaway the other day I decided to see what was new in the land of Tabio and oh man I was impressed.

With Winter weather well established their 110 (LOVE the dark orange) and 210 denier tights are going to be essential over the coming months.

florals

Good morning, I hope everyone is managing to stay warm? I'm taking full advantage of the heating being on for another half an hour and refusing to put a cardigan on. Talk to me in a hour and it'll be layers a-plenty.

Back on the floral wagon today with a vintage Gap dress kindly sent to me by Alex

(I'm not entirely sure what I was doing here!)

My nails have changed again, I was feeling some sparkle so went for C-C-Courage by China Glaze,
I'm tempted to put a coat of Barry M crackle over the top just to see if it'll work.

Thanks for the amazing comments on yesterday's post. Chocri certainly appreciated it. And sorry to anyone who follows me on twitter for my constant moaning!

Review: Chocri

Chocolate is one of those foods I deprived myself of for far too long. I'm re-learning just how much I love it though, and was absolutely delighted when I discovered Chocri who have recently started selling their custom made chocolate bars to us UK folks.

A little about the company, from their website:
"Chocri was founded in September 2008. In early 2010 our company launched in the US and as of September 2010 chocri chocolate is available in the UK. Our aim is to create great tasting premium chocolate customised to the wishes of our customers. You can choose a base chocolate (white, dark or milk chocolate), and then add your choice from over 100 toppings. Our range of toppings includes nuts, dried foods, but also exotics such as real gold flakes, small pretzels or chilli peppers. We hand-make the customised chocolate bars in a careful process according to the highest quality standards and ship them to you"

you can read more here

The wonderful folks at Chocri were kind enough to offer me three bars to try out and review...I jumped at the chance and here were the results.

Photobucket
This was the bar I designed for my Dad. It contained: Milk Chocolate with Peanuts, Caramel Chocolate Drops, Roasted Peanuts and Nougat. As you can see, the presentation is impeccable. My dad is a man where actions speak louder than words, and this bar was devoured in one sitting. He said the chocolate was wonderful, and the nuts fresh and crunchy. His only complaint was "needs more caramel".

Photobucket
Next was the bar my Mum chose, containing: Milk Chocolate with Mini Biscuits, Orange Chocolate Drops, Raisins, Toffee and Mini Heart Decoration. We loved the fact you could add decorations to the bar as well as flavours. It really was a work of art. This bar came with the perfect balance of all the toppings and the chocolate base was wonderfully smooth and rich, without being sickly or overly sweet.

Photobucket
And then there was my bar: Milk Chocolate with Organic Salt Pretzels, Cinnamon Cornflakes, Fig Bits and Peanut Butter Drops. One word. AMAZING. This really made me wonder why I deprived myself of the sweet stuff for so long. This was right up my alley and I enjoyed every bite.

Because Chocri is completely personal and you choose exactly what you want on your bar, it's hard to give a proper review and verdict, as it very much depends on personal taste. But I do recommend them wholeheartedly, for the fantastic customer service, the massive range of toppings and bases and for making me fall in love with chocolate all over again.

Prices vary as you pay per base and then for each topping, so it can become quite expensive but well worth it for an indulgent treat or special gift. At the moment they also have festive packaging which you can choose instead of the regular red box.

Oh, and you can name your bar whatever you want.

Have you tried Chocri before?
Are you planning to?
What would your dream chocolate bar be?

monday outfit post

Hey all, hope you had a fab weekend, get up to much? Mine was pretty chilled and included a spot of real shopping (purchased winter coat to be put away for Christmas) and an epic ton of window shopping!
X-factor was probably the main event, I'm gutted Diva Fever have left, but breathed a sigh of relief when Wagner got through ;)

Today I'm wearing my favourite pair of Black Milk leggings (you have to check out James' latest prints, that guy is genius!), with an ancient black shift dress and a vintage velvet blazer with awesome lace cuffs.
It feels so good to get back on the crazy tights train.

What's on the agenda for this week? I'm desperatley trying to make plans! So far I've got appointments to fill my time with, a review to write for the blog, and getting back on track with my media law course.

And watching masterchef. Of course.

"Keep lovers not friends" organic tee, £30

And this fabulous sweater, £35

So going on my ever growing Christmas list.

outfits and music

How is your week going so far? Half way to the weekend! The weather has turned pretty cold since Sunday and I've desperately been rooting around for something warm to wear.
So far I've rocked a jumper dress with tartan tights, and today my old faithful Zara Harem pants with a cropped faux leather jacket.
Dressing for cold weather is so much harder than when it's warm don't you think?

For the second part of this post I want to introduce you to the band Richard Parker

"Richard Parker is a four piece instrumental band from Leeds, united kingdom. we're currently playing as many shows as we can and constantly working on new material so keep checking back for dates and new music. love."

Based in Leeds these guys are pretty damn awesome. They are currently gigging a lot and need your support, so if your a Leeds local why not pop along and give them a listen?

Their facebook page gives information of all up-coming gigs as well as further developments from the band, it also links to their tumblr page and myspace account where you can listen to their music yourself.

I'm a fan, I'd love to hear what you guys think though (and I know the chaps would appreciate it too)
I'd love to hear what you think.

((and don't forget you have till Saturday to enter my giveaway))
