22.01 metal mouth

Wow, Friday has rolled round again, how fast has this week flown by? What are your weekend plans everyone? I'm off work tomorrow and will be hopefully catching up with a cousin who is down for the day. Sunday is my Grandad's birthday, so it is going to be a family filled weekend.

Thanks for the good wishes about the braces, the uncomfortable-ness is easing at last and I don't feel as insecure as I thought I would about having one at the age of almost 23...I guess I'm kind of used to it now, and fingers crossed the end result will be worth the discomfort!

Outfit wise, I ordered this dress from ASOS only to discover it is incredibly short. I'm in love with the shape and pattern though, so it's a keeper, to be worn with jeggings for now.
Do we think I could get away with thick tights though?

I think you can get away with thick tights, I don't know whether it's even warm enough to wear thick tights outside!

Hope the braces are going well!

Gorgeous dress!

It's a lovely dress, but to me it is a bit short to be worn with tights.. However with very opaque tights it could be just fine =)
You're right not to be embarassed about your braces, first a lot of people of our age have them (and even "older" people) and second they are hardly noticeable!
Have a lovely weekend

Glad your braces are feeling more comfortable, the end result will be worth it.

Hope you're adjusting well to the metal in your mouth!

That's a lovely dress, I'm sure you could get away with wearing thick leggings instead:)

I think thick leggings would do :)

This is lovely, I hope the braces aren't too bad! I remember when I first got mine and we went to a really posh restaurant the day after..I couldn't eat anything but the soup for starters :( I feel your pain!

Susan said...

you have the figure to get away with thick tights and a short dress. you could wear anything and still be cute!
I hope the braces aren't too bad! you are looking great.
have a sweet day, darling, xoxo

p.s the Wickadelic tights from the other day are pretty cool, have you checked out Bebaroque tights? they are fantastiche. " )

Yep I think it'd definately look nice with thick tights! I think ASOS dresses are always too short, and I'm only 5ft1"!!

braces are okay. After that you'll have the best smile of your life. hihihi.

love the dress. And the layers here are to die for. Am sometimes very ambitious for layered dressing. It's hot here all the time. Though now it's a bit cold, so am wearing jackets as long as i can before summer some.

have a great weekend gorgeous.

your braces are so tiny! also you could absolutely wear that with thick tights. I find that if something feels very short, flat shoes help tone it down :)

I'm one of the few lucky ones that never had to wear braces (even though i have a slight overbite) so i've no idea what they feel like! You could definitely wear tights with the dress!

You look gorgeous! I'm glad the braced aren't bothering you too much :)

Hi! About the outfit, in my opinion it would be perfect with tights or leggins, and i also love the pattern. About the size, i think it suits you nicely like that!
I hope the braces are a good investment for you (my doctor is thinking about one for me too, and i'm 22 as well...bah - we'll see)
This weekend is going to be a very regular one - I'm going to the antiques market, to be with my B, cause we can't be together during the week, to shere some time with the family too! Hope everything goes well with you these days and have a nice family weekend!

I love that dress and those shoes :) Good luck with the braces xx

Lovin' your braces - you look like a chick with attitude! The dress is so pretty and a lovely print and wouldn't be too short if you teamed it with 100 denier knitted tights and flat boots.

The dress is short, that's true, but I am sure it would still look perfect with some nice tights! It never hurts to try anyway :)

Hope you get used to braces real soon and stop thinking about it, I do think you look cute with braces!

I had braces for four years, wasn't too fun of a time, but two perks:

- amazingly straight teeth now
-brushing is so challenging with braces that I am now an expert in dental hygenine haha

Dress is lovely Im sure you ciould get away with thick tights.
Your braces look fine, lots of people get them in at an older age. Plus it will definitely be worth it! Im considering getting some.

I Love the outfit. I would wear it with thick, opaque tights, maybe even a couple pair, instead of the jeggins. As for the braces, you go for it girl. We all have to do what we have to do. You will be glad you did it when you get them off and see that beautiful smile.

I think it might on the tad 'exposing' side if worn with tights! It's gorgeous with jeggings though!

My bottom teeth are very squint, only going squint after my wisdom tooth came through, so I'm actually thinking about voluntarily getting braces.

Can you believe I grew up wanting braces (a bunch of my favourite cousins had them and I liked the way they looked... weird i know) but never got them?

I like the dress and I think it would look good with thick tights.

Brunch at Saks said...

Yay for braces! I know that sounds weird, but I had them when I was 10 and then again when I was 12 till I was 14 and I am SO thankful that I did! Many years later and my teeth are still straight! Pretty soon you won't even think twice about them and then when they are gone you will actually feel weird! Ha! And of course you look gorgeous in this outfit, as always love! Have a great weekend XOXO

Such a cute dress, but I often have that problem with ASOS dresses... many of them are way too short to be worn without tights. I think if you get very opaque or wool tights you can definitely get away with it.

Good luck with the braces. Is it really your 5th time? Wow. I wore them as a teenager for 2 years but I think unless you keep wearing the removable braces every night after that, teeth will shift forward again... such a pain!

Becca Joy said...

You should definitely try the dress with thick leggings, I love pattern!
