30.11 grey

Wow, I can't believe it is the last day of November, how scary is that? In a months time, Christmas will be over and we'll be getting ready to celebrate the coming of a New Year, and indeed, a new Decade. Has anyone got plans already? I wish I could say I have...but I don't. We tend to decide at the last minute what we're going to do.

Finally we have a break in the rain today, but it is so cold, my outfit is made up of lots of layers and my faithful thermal tights.

Tomorrow, I'll be marking the start of the festive month by hosting my first giveaway on this blog; so make sure you check back.

27.11 favourite recipes

Yesterday I recieved a request to share some of my favourite baking recipes on the blog,
I'm on a real baking kick at the moment, and I'm more than happy to oblidge! Most of the recipes I use, are ones found online, so I've created a list of links so you can browse at your leisure. Enjoy!

Flapjacks are so simple to make, and always a crowd pleasure. The thing I love most about making these is you can swap the dried fruit and nuts for anything your heart desires.

I made these lemon fairy cakes for my end of college picnic, instead of the suggested garnish, I used a daisy cutter to make shapes from fondant, and piped pink icing to make a summery decoration.

Photobucket

These oat biscuits could not be easier. I added in a 45g bag of M&Ms for a colourful treat

Photobucket

Rice Krispy treats are super more-ish and sticky, good fun to make.

Photobucket

What are your favourite recipes?
These are only a teeeeeeny selection of what I love to make, and I have stacks more recipes to try out soon...but a few more won't hurt ;)

I'll be back tomorrow with an outfit post!

Happy Friday xxx

25.11 outfits and award

Mid-week brings more miserable weather and a couple of mediocre outfits from me,
my cold, which seemed to be on its way out has ramped up a notch and I haven't felt like doing much at all.

Yesterday I wore:

Photobucket

Photobucket

to do nothing much at all, really!

The lovely Dena passed on this award/tag to me, and I've finally got around to sharing it (sorry for the delay Dena!)

23.11 quick outfit post

Happy Monday!
I promise to do my next tag/award soon, still not feeling 100% and am lacking concentration.
I am also soaked through after getting caught in yet another torrential downpour making my way back from the doctors...
I thought I was doing pretty well and was just thinking how lucky I was to have escaped the vile weather (serious winds and rain) when the heavens openened.

So, quick outfit post. Basically a repeat outfit, but with a new pair of leggings with stud detail down the sides.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Not the best of pictures, as the light here is terrible right now. I also now look a thousand times worse,
with dripping hair, and the leggings have been replaced with sweat pants whilst they dry out!

Have a great start to the week!

22.11 tag catch up

I hope everyone is having a great weekend,
please excuse lack of outfit posts; I'm sick and therefore slobbing around in nothing exciting/post worthy! Hopefully tomorrow, or Tuesday I'll feel like donning something other than jogging bottoms or PJs!

I've been tagged a couple of times over the last week or so, and I'm finally getting around to catching up.
Firstly, toothfairy tagged me to reveal 10 beauty facts about myself.

1. I don't have a skin care routine as such, it depends how lazy I feel from day to day.

2. My skin care staples include Tesco vitamin E facial wipes (at 26p per pack, and currently 3 for 2, these are a total bargain) and Kate Logan Beauty products, especially the borage cleansing oil and the borage and calendula skin balm.

3. I am addicted to eyeshadow, and am a bit of a snob as I only use MAC. However, personally, I'd rather pay more for an eyeshadow and get great payoff, and have it last longer, than have to buy several cheaper equivalents.

4. I find it impossibly hard to find a foundation light enough for my skin. I am currently favouring Babara Daley's range for Tesco.

5. I'm hopeless at little things like painting my nails.

6. I hate hate hate my hair, but hate having it played with even more. I am in desperate need of a haircut and WILL be booking one soon!

7. I'm a lipbalm junkie.

8. My day to day lipstick is Angel, by MAC for the perfect subtle pink sheen.

9. I'm insanely attracted to anything sparkly and own about 12 glitter eyeliners.

10. My favourite perfumes are Anais Anais, and Daisy by Marc Jacobs.

As always, I don't know who to tag, so if you fancy doing this, then be my guest

Ok,
my concentration is waning,
I'll do my next tag tomorrow :)

20.11

Happy Friday! The end of another week, and only 5 weeks to go to Christmas, how bloody scary is that?!

Thanks for the lovely comments on my last post, for those of you who asked; it is indeed a top worn under the dress.

I have a couple of tags/awards to do and pass along, which I promise I will do over the weekend. I have a few bits and pieces to get done today so this is a fairly quick post!

Yesterday I wore:

Photobucket

Photobucket

The dress is a new member to my wardrobe (with many thanks to covertcandy and their awesome vintage shop), and the boots are 3 years old now (I think!)

Today I've gone for a more dressed down approach:

Photobucket

Photobucket

What are your weekend plans?
I'm working tomorrow and visiting my grandparents,
and as far as I know, Sunday will be a lovely quiet day where I can catch up on tags and make some more jewellery.

Have a good one, whatever you do!

18.11

Hey guys, happy mid-week. How's it going?
Not much happening in my little patch of the world. Just general everyday coming and going, and avoiding the still awful weather.

Quick outfit post today before I head out for wanderings with my Mum. We're having lots of girly time this week, with Dad being away, it's rather nice. Yesterday we went to the local garden centre to look at the Chrismtas displays (some were hilariously awful) and pick up a few bits,
today we're off for a meeting that I need to attend and them window shopping in the next town along.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I'm getting awfully tempted by the high street sales that seem to be cropping up. I already succumbed to New Look (a skirt and leggings for £16.50...score!) and I'm trying my best to ignore the rest of them as I am severley lacking in funds!

Have a great day!

16.11

Morning all, Happy Monday and start of another new week! I hope its going to be a good one.
What did you get up to this weekend? UKers, I hope the weather wasn't too awful for you, we had the worst of it Saturday, it was scary at times (or, I'm a wimp!)

Outfit today:

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

The top is actually a vintage dress, which I bought because I loved the detail on the front,
however, I didn't take my height in to consideration and I feel it is far too short to be worn as a dress. Having being sat in my wardrobe for 3 months, I finally decided to pair it with the "jeggings".

Thanks for the amazing feedback on my jewellery, all but the compass are still available, so drop me an e-mail if your interested.

Have a great day!

outfit and jewellery for sale

Weekend at last! Oh man am I relieved (apart from the whole having to work tomorrow morning thing)
How's it been for you?
A better one over here, just cold, with miserable weather and too little sleep, but I'll live. I'm starting to get in to the Christmas spirit and caught myself humming a festive tune this morning.

Outfit today = slobby,
because I have no need to leave the house thanks to my best friend/personal shopper, Trudi.

Photobucket

Photobucket

All I have planned is lots of curling up under blankets, working my way through the stack of magazines I seem to have.

I made some new jewellery yesterday and thought I'd offer it up for sale on here,
it's ideal for Christmas gifts for friends/family
(or for yourself)
Drop me an e-mail at adaisychaindream@googlemail.com if your interested in a piece. I ship worldwide and accept paypal.

Photobucket

Working compass necklace (plastic compass so won't weigh you down). Quirky and functional! £6 UK/£7 overseas.

Photobucket

Vintage roundabout charm. Spins as you wear it. Due to the age of this charm it's a little wonky, but looks great when hung around the neck. £4.50 UK/£5.50 overseas

Photobucket

Vintage upside down umbrella charm on gold plated chain. Super simple, super cute. £4 UK/£5 overseas

Photobucket

Enamel deer with crystal detail on silver plated chain £4 UK/£5 overseas.

affordable vintage from covert candy

Hello everyone, welcome to the middle of the week! I hope its been a good one so far? It's still bloody cold here, but I'm adapting ;)
Finally got in to town Christmas shopping today. Please don't hate me, but I only have three more presents left to buy
(and no money left!)

I know a lot of us are vintage fans, and I also know it can get very expensive, so I wanted to bring www.covertcandy.co.uk and their vintage shop to your attention as a one stop place for swapping the clothes you don't wear for credits to buy ones you will, and their seperate online shop for cheap vintage clothes

I've been a member of covert candy for some time now and really love the site. I've had some great items from there, and have felt better about culling my unworn clothes, knowing they've gone to a good home.
The vintage shop is great, with loads of variety for really, really reasonable prices. Where I live, the only vintage shop is a teeny tiny one of the highstreet and it jacks prices up so much, that I often go in there feeling I've walked in to Selfridges or something (not that we have such shops in my sleepy little village!)

All the vintage items on covert candy are hand selected from vintage wholesalers in Paris, and they have fresh batches arrive approximatley every month. You can sign up for e-mail alerts of new arrivals as soon as they arrive.

So
go check it out, and sign up for the clothes swap too. We might end up with each other's clothes ;)

Outfit wise, I've done something I swore I never would and bought a pair of "jeggings" although the ones I got, from New Look are the thickness and quality of a pair of skinny jeans, in my opinion, just with an elasticated waist.

Not bad for £15!

Icicles

Oh man,
it is COLD today. I really resented having to leave my toasty warm house where only a dress is required, to venture out and about bundled up in cardis, coat, gloves and scarf.

How's your Monday going? Do you live somewhere warm? (if you do, please kidnap me, thanks)

Photobucket

Photobucket

What are your plans for this week? I don't think I have any? Weather permitting, hopefully I'll make it in to Bristol for some Christmas shopping, but otherwise, not a lot. I must get my ass in gear and enrol on the media law course I want/need to do.

Anyone bought anything from the Giles Deacon for New Look range yet? I'm tempted by a couple of things, but want to check them out in store first.

playing tag

Happy Sunday one and all, it's a miserable rainy day here, and my day off was spent feeling ill and sorry for myself...I have higher hopes for next week being better!
I've been tagged a few times lately, so I'm taking this chance to catch up!

First up:
Photobucket

The rules:
These are the rules:
1. Thank the person who nominated me for this award.
2. Copy the award & place it on my blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated me for this award.
4. Tell us 7 interesting things about yourself.
5. Nominate 7 bloggers.
6. Post links to the 7 blogs I nominate.

So, thank you to fayee and kiki who passed this along to me!

Now, seven things about me that are vaguely interesting? Tough one!

1. I was a member of Brownies until I finally got booted out around the age of 12. I then joined Explorer scouts when I was 16/17 and had the time of my life on a mass camping trip to Austria.

2. My first proper pet was a Gerbil named Biff.

3. I love the run up to Christmas, but always find the day itself a bit of a let down.

4. Up until a couple of years ago my typical daily wear was jeans and a t-shirt; with a hoodie when it got cold. I gradually started buying dresses and now, well, I'm pretty much a real girly girl.

5. My favourite Disney film is Beauty and the Beast.

6. I don't drink alcohol (anymore).

7. I'm obsessed with oreos and mourn the fact we only get normal, chocolate cream and more recently white chocolate covered ones over here. One of my most memorable gifts from a friend was a box of about 12 different varities shipped over from the USA!

So there we go,
enlightened?
I didn't think so ;)

For this, I am tagging EVERYONE because, well, I am.

Here's what I'm wearing today (old photo though) to break this post up.

Photobucket

Next up:
The lovely Zmaga chose me to do Cassie’s Therapy tag made by Erimentha.
Photobucket
The task: fill in 12 likes, 1 love and 8 hates like Cassie in her therapy video (except the link to the video wont work for me). Below, the bolded things are what you MUST include. Also, please link it back to Erimentha, and link it onto 3 other blogs you admire!

I’m tagging blogs: all of you (because I'm both nosy and lazy). Enjoy!

Abracadabra, Wow!
I like boys with a cheeky smile and girls with a charming personality.
I like the first cup of coffee of the day.
I like waking up before anyone else and enjoying peace and quiet.
I like walks on cold days, bundled up against the elements.
I like getting lost in a good book.
I like kitty kisses.
I love being snuggled up in bed with a cup of tea and magazine listening to the wind and rain batter the window.
Today is still un-planned.
In some ways, I love everything.
It's less, it's less of a thing to like, it's less distinct, it's less particular
I like things that I like but I love everything
There’s more choice in like
Cos even the worst things have things you love in them
I don’t know what you mean about things I hate...

I hate being late.
I hate feeling vulnerable.
I hate not being able to view myself in the same way others do.
I hate that I've lost my motivation.
I hate liars.
I hate not knowing but in a way the suspense is exciting.
I hate accidentally standing on bugs.
I hate that I'm incapable of looking polished
I hate this, wow. . .

Sorry.

Have fun

06.11

Who else is looking forward to the weekend? I have tomorrow off work, an although I have no plans, I'm still excited as it means not getting up at 6am!

Outfits for yesterday and today:

Photobucket

Photobucket

[this is for the anonymous who "missed" my tights...and for the one who asked if I wear them out of the house, YES, yes I do]

sometimes little comments like that really made me giggle to myself for no reason.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Did anyone go to any fireworks displays?
I'm not a fan of them myself, watching from my bedroom window is as close as I want to get. Thankfully, now Flash is old, he is also quite deaf, and wasn't nearly as scared as previous years.

Photobucket
Have a great weekend all!

There will also be several more gorgeous pieces, I just didn't want to spoil the suprise ;)

I'm probably going to have to limit myself to one, if any of the pieces due to being broke,
which one would you pick?

With thanks to Helen at New Look for the pics
