Outfits and Jewellery (for sale)
Turns out I was too lazy (er, in too much of a foul mood) to post yesterday, but here are my long ago promised outfits.

This was Monday, I think. I love this dress but never really know what colour tights to pair with it...I'm thinking perhaps navy would work? Of course, having to wear tights in August is a bit much anyway!

This is today, the dress is one of the things I bought in Primark on Tuesday and cost the grand sum of £5 (reduced). I *almost* didn't buy it, but seeing it on, I'm glad I did. It came with the belt, and although I'm not usually a belt person I do like this one.
I've made some new jewellery this week too, which I'm offering up for sale here. These charms are fantastic, each one opens up to reveal an extra detail.
If you want to buy, please e-mail me laurabudd1@hotmail.co.uk
I ship worldwide and prefer paypal for payment.

I'm not entirely sure this will ever sell, as it's going to be priced at £20 UK/£22 overseas,
this is purely because of the cost of these charms and the weight of the bracelet
*hides*
SOLD
However, if you DO buy it, you can have a necklace free.

Acorn necklace,

Complete with squirrel!
£8 UK/£9.50 elsewhere
SOLD

Gift box

With a beautiful crystal bead, which is somehow magnetic as it doesn't fall out when opened!
£8 UK/£9.50 elsewhere.
I hope everyone is having an awesome week!

It's that time of year again
UK people will know what I mean by the title,
it's the return of "talent TV" season.
X-factor returned to our screens this weekend (how amazing was that teacher at the end?!)
and soon we'll have Stricly Come Dancing back as well.
I've been lucky enough to be able to share a teaser of the show with you guys (please join an orderly queue to thank me).
Exciting stuff, right?
I can't wait to see the amazing costumes and what celebs we have in store this year.
Enjoy

Recipes
Here are the recipes for the goodies I made on Thursday, so many people requested them I thought making a post was my best bet!
Oat Cookies
Ingredients:
75g (3 oz) self raising flour
75g (3 oz) porridge oats
75g (3 oz) sugar (I used dark brown sugar but any kind will work)
75g (3 oz) butter
1 tablespoon golden syrup
1 tablespoon milk
I also added 45g M&Ms but I think you could add in any candy or dried fruit/nuts!
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas mark 4. Line a baking tray with baking parchment.
- Sift the flour into a bowl. Mix in rolled oats and sugar.
- Melt butter, syrup and milk in a saucepan and stir until heated through. Add to the premixed dry ingredients. Mix until well combined. Spoon onto a baking tray and shape into rounds.
- Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Leave to cool for 5 minutes before removing from tray.
Rice Krispy Treats
Ingredients:
•100g toffee (individual sweets or a slab) I hope to experiment with varying flavours
•100g butter or margarine
•100g marshmallows
•100g Rice Krispies
Directions:
- Grease a shallow 28x18cm tin with butter or margarine on a paper towel.
If you have a slab of toffee, put it in a plastic bag and break it up with a rolling pin.
- Put the toffee, butter or margarine and marshmallows into a pan. Melt them gently over a low heat, stirring all the time.
- When melted and blended, take the pan off the heat and gently stir in the Rice Krispies.
- Spoon the mixture into the tin and press it gently with the back of a metal spoon. Leave to set then cut into squares.
Have fun trying these out, and taste testing of course!
I hope to do a lot more baking in the near future, I've re-discovered how much I love being in the kitchen.
Do you have a favourite recipe? Feel free to share it with me, I'd love to try out some new things!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend

sweet tooth
Last time I baked, I made flapjack, which I sent with Mum to work (at a Doctors Surgery). She came home the same day with requests for more baked goods, so this morning after waking up at a stupidly early hour I set to work.
For the record, I bake in my PJs, I make so much mess, it's not worth putting an outfit on for!

First up today was Rice Krispy treats, which are so easy to make and always a hit. I think they took me 15 minutes in total (and then a further half an hour to clear up after myself)

Then, having had an urge to do something with the surplus of oats we have, I found a recipe for oatmeal cookies and at the last minute added in some M&Ms for colour.

Again, these were really quick and easy to do, and smelt amazing whilst cooking.
And after all that?
My outfit today is barely worth showing

American Apparel t-shirt dress and some plain full length leggings.
If anyone wants either recipe let me know

denim x 2
A rarity for me, but over the past couple of days I have found myself favouring jeans over my usual uniform of a dress or skirt. It's like a comfort blanket I think, and with things being just a little stressful in my life at the moment I've fallen back in to old habits.
Not that I mind, denim has it's charms, I've just never felt its suited me all that well.

These are my £4.99 Urban Outfitters jeans, made by [blank] and worn with a past season topshop top. I've never heard of this brand before, but they fit well and are long enough in the leg and waist for my tall frame. I wouldn't pay £60 for a pair of jeans, but at less than £5 I can't complain.

Today I was too lazy for anything more than a mirror picture, especially as Mum is ill so I've had to make a couple of trips to the shops to pick up things we need as we have no food in the house. The jeans I'm wearing today are River Island (nabbed off Mum) and the shirt is a hand me down from a friend.
I did indulge in some more retail therapy both yesterday and today,
budget style of course.
I picked up two pairs of tights in Boots yesterday; one grey and one royal blue for £1.25 a pair...so if you have a Boots near you, check them out as they are having major clearance (also on some Soap and Glory products though typically these were sold out here).
Today I treated myself to a much lusted after leopard print leotard in New Look, rationalising that I should make the most of my student discount as I have less than two weeks until it becomes in-valid. So, £10.80 makes a bargain, yes?

Sorry if the photo is super small.
I can't wait to take my saved up pennies along to Primark, I am in major shopping mode lately.

wishlist
Apparently shopping this week has set off my quiet of late lust for all things new.
Asos has been today's browsing material of choice, and I've been thinking about how perfect all of these things would be in my A/W wardrobe.

Sadly all WAY out of my price range,
however, the new Bristol Primark finally opened it's doors this week and I have plans to visit either this coming week or next with a friend
so perhaps I'll find some cheaper alternatives to quell my desire?
(it's pretty sad I've had to save for near on a month just to afford a few bits in Primark...c'est la vie)
I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend

retail therapy at its best
So yesterday, in the end I wasn't needed at college (but will be at the end of the month) but as the weather was good and Mum and I had planned to shop after, we went on in anyway.
It was a success in terms of buying things I needed, Urban Outfitters sale was a gold mine yesterday and I ended up getting a skirt for £4.99 (instead of £30) and some [blank] jeans for £4.99 (instead of £60). I also got a sweet floral top in the New Look teen section for £10 and some bits and pieces for my Mum and a friend.
Outfits this week have been hit and miss,
mainly because I've been lazy and the weather has been so-so.
Tuesday I wore a dress I forgot I owned (woops, I'm so bad for doing that)

I think it was once Mum's, bought for a holiday...possibly from Matalan.
Yesterday I opted for a cream and black dress, but failed to get a photo because I was rushing around,
and today I popped on my new skirt and top
(I could have done without the tights but I was too lazy to de-fuzz this morning)

The material is soft jersey with a denim effect, so comfortable and I'll probably live in it from now on.
I can't believe we're almost at the end of another week,
I hope it's been a good one

House Keeping
I've just realised I'm yet to put a photo of Flash up on the blog...can't have that
*rectifies*

That's better!
Quick post today as I'm off in to college and then shopping shortly
1. On my old blog someone gave me a handy HTML instruction to make my photos show up better by narrowing the side bar or something (yeah, I'm clueless) but if anyone has any ideas...send them my way!
2. BLOGROLL: want to exchange links? this is your chance!
3. Check out our post on Sunday Girl Accessories at Can't Help but Be
Outfit post/possible (hopeful) new buys tomorrow!

Early Starts
Monday...it always rolls around so damn fast. Today is already dragging, it was another early start for me today, 6:15am due to my stupid bladder. No clue what it's playing at but I'm not amused.
I plan to take it easy, which is no real change from usual to be quite honest, but it gave me the perfect excuse just to sling on one of my £6 New Look jersey dresses and be done with outfit decisions.

These dresses (I have blue as well) have without a doubt been my top summer purchase. I've worn them loads and for £6 the quality has been fantastic, my coral one is fading a little now, but it just adds to the overall affect. And yes, I used this picture on the old blog, but it's just one of those days ;)
I'm posting up these necklaces in the hopes someone will take them off my hands. I'm desperate for new supplies but daren't order anything until I make some space!
Each necklace is £3.50 each for the UK, and £4.50 for overseas (that includes postage). Leave me a comment with your e-mail address if you'd like one and I'll get in touch. I'll also gladly trade.

Mini Eiffel Tower

Shoe Love

Copper Puffed Heart

Scary/Kinda Cute Bunny.
I hope everyone has a fantastic week ahead,
my plans don't amount to much, I'm in college on Weds to speak to more prospective Journalism students which means a little trip to the shops after, it's been too long! Hopefully if the weather is good Mum will tag along too.
I also fully intend to make some flapjack tomorrow, though that depends on how motivated I feel.

Outfits
Well, what can I say? It's not been a very good few days, between losing my blog AND my e-mail account (that I've had since I've 15, and as a consequence I've lost some precious e-mails from Emily) and then getting a phone call from the Drs to say something was funky with my blood tests and I needed to come in and get them re-done...
yeah. Life goes like that sometimes.
Anyway,
thank you very much to all of you who've found me over here and helped to spread the word. Please, continue to do so, I don't want to lose touch with anyone..I don't care about readership numbers or comment numbers, I just want my friends!
Here's what I've been wearing for the last couple of days.
Yesterday:

New Look top and skirt, Tesco tights. The weather was so strange yesterday, alternating between gorgeous and warm, to chilly with hammering rain.
Today:

This is something a bit (very) different for me, I've never done strapless before due to my lack of ... anything in the chest department. However the dress was passed on to me via Trudi and I fell in love and was determined to make it work.
Remembering I had blood tests and was meeting my grandparents for lunch, I stuck on some neutral tights and a light weight cardigan (and totally impractical shoes) before heading out.
The dress is from New Look.
Fingers crossed the next few days are less traumatic for me, the weather has certainly improved and I'm taking that as a good sign!

New Home
Hey guys,
welcome to the new home of Daisychaindreams
if you come across my site here, please please spread the word.
I've had issues with both blogger and hotmail (my account was hacked)
so for my security and peace of mind I've changed things over.
I'm hoping that through my favourites and such I can get in touch with most of the blogs I follow
I would really appreciate it you could tweet, or mention in a post my new home though
as I don't want to lose touch with anyone.
